Honour guard (3) with power weapons, and boltguns and a champion thrown in I think

Terminators (5) with assault cannon
Terminators (5) with assault cannon
Dreadnought with twin las and heavy flamer

Tactical Squad with missile launcher, meltagun and power fist in drop pod
Tactical Squad with missile launcher, meltagun in drop pod
Scout squad (8) 4 with snipers, 3 with boltguns and 1 with missile launcher

Land speeder with multimelta and typhoon missile
Land speeder with heavy bolter and typhoon missile
Land speeder with multi-melta and heavy bolter

We originally rolled for capture and control, spearhead but then decided to roll again cos we couldn't come to an agreement about another mission... Plan? He had rolled for turn 1 and to pick his side, and having deployed his scouts as far forward as possible (after some belated repositioning) and his command squad with captain in the corner, so I was left with 2 choices.

Choice 1: Refuse flank - probably in the bigger bunker on my half with my platoon starting in there... the problems with this were that he had deployed so far forward that I wouldn't have enough space to deploy my whole blob... and also most of his army was deepstriking so it would be kind of useless...

So I went with choice 2, deploying centrally with lots of avenues of fire, out in the open and with some space for tanks to rumble on behind, with CCS nearby and HWS in the smaller bunker. Vendetta with pcs inside outflanked and the rest would come in turn 1.

1500 pts Salamanders vs Blood Angels

Kill points, dawn of war... I helped Ilya make an army list for this and both he and Paul borrowed a few things from my Ultras in order to create their armies.

Salamanders, this was a new take on trying to tackle Paul's Blood Angels:

Captain power sword, storm bolter

Dreadnought missile launcher, twin lascannon
Dreadnought (assault cannon, storm bolter i think) in drop pod
5x Terminators with cyclone missile launcher

5 man Scout squad 4x sniper 1 ml in twin las razorback
10 man tactical squad with multi-melta, meltagun (and maybe powerfist was in this one rather than one below) in rhino with dozer blade
10 man tactical squad with plasma gun, plasma cannon (i think) and powerfist (see above) in drop pod

Land speeder with heavy bolter and typhoon missiles
Land speeder with multi-melta and typhoon missiles

Blood Angels - pretty standard Paul list:

Mephiston
Dante

Furiosio dread in drop pod

Sanguard
Scouts with 4x sniper, 1x ml
10man Tactical Squad (!!!) with lascannon and meltagun and hb razorback

Land speeder with multi-melta

Vindicator

So two armies which are both slightly different to what each player is used to playing and playing against, should be interesting...

Deployment - Paul deployed first... upon my suggestion Ilya semi-castled slightly to one flank, aim was to make the scouts sit uselessly on one side of the field and then get a dread to mop them up in the late game...

note the "camouflaged" combat squadded tacticals in the bastion

Ultramarines vs Salamanders Vanguard 1750pts

My camera has died and the charger is not working so the next batreps after this one will be using the old camera until I find a solution to the problem...

Ilya and I played another battle today (yesterday now...), but since we were fed up of our last few games being capture and control and still wanting to keep it random we used the battle missions book. I won the first roll off and became the "Space Marine player" then I rolled for the mission and it came out as "Vanguard".

1500pt Blood Angels vs Salamanders

Ilya and I played a game. The mission was Annihilation and the deployment was Table quarters. To look at my army click here.

Taking the tanks for a Stroll...

I can't remember how many points this was, but it was Imperial Guard vs Salamanders. Dawn of war and seize ground.

3 Objectives, he went first or maybe I made him go first I can't remember. I purposefully placed mine in the open as Ilya is always wary of leaving cover (even with marines).

Mini-Tournament

Okay, I know this happened AGES ago but I finally managed to get it posted up.

Game 1 I was up against Artemy using Ilya's salamanders.

Table quarters : Annihalation

I had a lot of general stuff, both those squads are normal guard - it was friendly so I was allowed to take just 1 troop :D

He had some stuff - mostly not v. good choices in my opinion

He castled up in one corner which was not v. clever of him especially since I promptly seized the initiative

I spread out and got ready to attack.

I did some damage but my tanks got under heavy fire.

Couldnt take down that land speede :(

I'm loving my new tanks, they killed tons of marines - large blast markers ftw.

In the end he won 5-3 because of some unlucky rolls on my part - for example my psyker killed himself in perils of the warp instead of killing his commander and I couldnt kill his land speeder.

Game 2 : Ilya's Eldar

Capture and Control : Table Quarters

I seize the initiative - again!!!

A few blasts and movement and I was controlling the field and contesting his objective

While having my objective in firm control

Ended the game 1-0, Artemy won the tournament having won all his matches

Apocalypse battle: Eldar and Orks vs Imperium

SO here it is after being long promised. What I'll do is take you through the pics and a add a little story to it. My secret mission was to have a unit in each building :( - might have to change that cos it's a bit difficult. Oh and it was a 5,750 point battle. My list was so long that I just can't be bothered to write everything I included here, sorry folks. You can also see this as the end to our R2G campaign. Also blogger has been playing up so it all got kinda jumbled :(.

The battered 301st Cadian regiment had been fighting to keep control of the planet for many years now, and their ranks had been thinned down to a under-armed and under-equipped platoon with just three leman russes left of their numerous tank companies and a hellhound.

Not to worry, for warriors of the Salamanders legion and the mighty Ultramarines had arrived to join the fray. Unfortunately the Blood angels sent to reinforce the defence of the last hive city (read: I ran out of points :( ).

Fortunately for the Imperium a defense line was hastily constructed, for otherwise nothing would have stopped the combined power of the THREE opposing super-heavies. Somehow by chance a hellhammer was brought out of servicing by the adeptus mechanicus and was there to join the battle-line.

The tide of Orks surged forward, as aspect warriors nimbly skipped around them and dropped out of the skies. A barrage commenced, throwing astartes bodies and tanks into the air along the Imperial defense line. The Imperium, stalwart as a rock responded by sending forth the two land raiders and calling in an orbital bombardment, killing a few squads of dire avengers and damaging the Skullhamma.

The battle-line fired, causing damage here and there, but all the while fervently praying to survive the next turn.

Once again the ork warcry was taken up and a stompa destroyed the hellhammer, but it could have been much worse if not for the defense line :)

Imperial reserves finally rumbled on blasting away and seriously damaging the Stompa (taking away 3 out of 4 structure points). Along the battle-line rag-tag counter-attacks were made and a few more astartes dropped out of the sky amongst the enemy lines.

The orks and eldar kept coming, but began losing their control of the field, with many of their super-heavies damaged in some way or another.

Imperial forces swept forward stealing objectives from under xenos noses with the game ending 1-1. Then Paul revealed completion of his secret objective - destroying a super-heavy. Player X (my team) rolled on their secret objective (sacred ground) but failed to get a 5+, leaving the xenos with a minor victory.

The tides of orks had overrun the last defense before the hive but the Imperium's efforts may have stalled their advance enough to survive the defense of the last hive city.

There were more pics but I cant find them for some reason... which is strange cos I take a few of my vanquisher aiming at the stomping for example, and others ...
