1500 pts IG mirror-match

Was challenged to an IG vs IG match by the guy who runs this blog... I'd already lost to him with my Ultramarines so it was time to bring a good list. I brought what I at the time thought was the best guard list I could run at 1500 pts considering the models I own... I have since slightly revised my opinions but I'm slightly less disappointed in my guard than when I posted this...

Aegis with Quad Gun

There were a lot of people at the shop so there wasn't much terrain left available so we made do. Mission was Relic with Dawn of War deployment. I forgot to take my aegis with me, and that's why there's a bunch of random barricades and dice and an objective marker instead. I managed to seize the iniative and off we went. Night was on.




Having scouted my hellhound forwards I moved it 12" and grilled part of the enemy blob as I couldnt get los of the CCS which was hiding behind a Russ. Managed to kill an autocannon and a power axe. My chimeras tried to move forward as fast as possible but the one with the meltavets got immobilised straight away. The vets got out. The other one pops smoke and flats out. Try to kill the quad gun with shooting.

Opponent replies by taking hull points off the hellhound to wreck it and wrecks my plasmavets' ride.


Turn 2, both vendettas come in, and I explode the punisher which had turned to kill the hellhound and so exposed it's back armour. Marbo comes in but only stuns the LRBT and I think fails to do any lasting damage on the hellhound. He is then killed in my opponents' turn.



Opponents vendettas also come in and try to mostly down my vendettas but with little effect. It is at this point that I decide I should just flog it to get the relic.


Vendettas let their passengers disembark, with flamers leaving the plasma ccs with only a single commander remaining and the meltaguns of the SWS miss their mark.


The enemy then get their own flamers into my backfield and do some damage to one of the blobs. In return I don't manage to kill all the flamers but thin out the squad by half. Vendettas snipe my quad gun and my poor ccs.


We play it out to turn 7, where I'm holding the relic and have made a dash for linebreaker. I've been unable to kill his warlord who keeps going to ground for a 2+ cover save. He also has one lone flamer from the pcs who refused to fail his leadership test and is holding linebreaker.

In the enemy turn my linebreaking meltavets are flamered to death by his blob and it leaves us with a 3-3 draw from a hotly contested game. Great Game, great opponent.


In other news, I've been persuaded that a Pask Exterminator would actually be pretty good, so I may still be returning to my guard. Also with my artillery ordered from lasercut card, maybe I can still pack a punch with an interesting list. And I need to remember to use heavy bolters on my vendettas when I pay for them, because at this rate I may as well just keep the extra 20 points and get some camo netting for someone.

    Ростер мой чуть напутан) плазма командник был в карапасе, и сержанты были без топориков, и по воксу в главном команднике и платуне.)

    1. я очень быстро это делал да и еще не каждый ход. Ну и еще на турнирах научился на это много времени не тратить.

      Про ростер сорри, думал что все помню, а все напутал! Исправил, спс.

  3. Что-то я сам теперь тоже не могу понять почему я решил что есть правило скаут... видимо ошибся (возможно из-за того что все остальное на этой странице имеет это правило) - извини :(
