So it's got the mandatory darklight weapon per 100 points. Got 7 venoms, some blade-vaning  and a squad of anti-infantry trueborn. Actually got a decent amount of troops that aren't all just going to go in for a suicide attack unlike other de lists I've written and has a little fun unit of hellions that go with the baron and can score late game if someone survives. Mainly their job is to harrass and distract.

I've let go of the voidraven for this one because I've realised that the pricetag it has may just not be worth it at this points level. For higher points, yes definitely, but for now I'm going to drop it. Was trying to get some incubi in there, but honestly this seems better.

After some playtesting I have a feeling that I'll probably switch out the hellions for a small beast pack of maybe 4 khymerae and 2 razorwings but we'll see.

  1. might wanna consider trimming a unit for caltrops on the reavers, and night shields on every vehicle. While it will cost you that last true born squad or the hellions, it gives all your fragile vehicles another layer of protection, namely range. You can now dictate the flow of shooting and pick off targets with little fear of retribution. Against Tau this is now key, as they have too many ways to bypass jink (marker lights, SMS, etc). Blade vanes greatly improve the damage output and can more reliably hit rear armour thanks to the new FAQ.
    Just some food for thought

    1. I see your points but I'm not entirely convinced. I agree about night shields on ravagers, but why put them on venoms full of suicide wyches which are planning to be hurtling in the enemies face any way?

Blade vanes are good, but I think I have just about enough anti-infantry and if I get blade vanes I'll always be so tempted to use them that I'll always forego shooting. Maybe in a different style of reader unit, where I would not take any special weapons and just get blade vanes.

  2. Sounds like a solid list but it might struggle to hold objectives. 5 models might be difficult to hold down objectives though.

    1. It's more than I had in the last list (although I had more hellions). Hopefully if I can kill all the enemy troops then a small squad of 5 can sneakily get away without too much trouble. Also big squads = raiders. And I think venoms are a lot better for their cost

  3. Nice list, however I think you should look to get a 3rd heavy support unit.

I agree the Voidraven is expensive, but I think you can never go wrong with a 3rd ravager. I would lose a trueborn squad with blasters to get it. The ravager will be in range on turn one while the trueborn have to put themselves and their venom in close range.

I would use the spare points from swapping 3 trueborn and a venom for a ravager to up the size of the hellions. Although I think beastmasters with the Baron are better than hellions with the Baron in 6th edition, losing the hellions for beastmasters would leave your troops dangerously low.

I'm looking forward to seeing how your list gets on.

    1. The advantage of trueborn is that they are able contest and bring with them a venom for more anti-infantry which is what I'm worried about atm. Also ravagers can't assault, nor move as fast without sacrificing all that firepower. I may be tempted to get another squad of reavers though.
